Bali surf is not a sport or a pastime: it is a philosophy of life, not to say a true religion. Nowadays, the number of Balinese people who can surf is very high, and not just among young people: it is not uncommon to see breathtaking performances from characters with different springs on the shoulders. In the coastal areas, the surf culture has conquered all and soon became a symbol of the entire Indonesian island.
Balangan is Bukit’s first spot, coming from Kuta. It is a lovely bay with white sand and transparent water. The spot is a reef break, there are no dangers with high and medium tide but low is advisable only for experienced surfers, as the large tide tour causes the reef to be often discovered by water, so it is better to be Sure not to fall! The wave is a pretty fast left, and with the right conditions it has a long tubular section. With 2 to 5 foot swells, it’s a spot that is accessible to everyone, extremely fun and great for enhancing their technique, but from 6 feet up it becomes a high level wave. Balangan holds any swell, even bigger and more substantial!
Dreamland is between Balngan and Bingin, and is the only beach break in Bukit. The beach is one of the most beautiful in the area but unfortunately it was a bit ruined by the construction of a big hotel behind it. The wave is A-frame and works well with consistent swells, 4-5 feet up and at low tide. When it’s small it’s a good spot for beginners.
BINGIN / IMPOSSIBLES
Bingin and Impossibles are two extreme reef breaks, the waves in both spots are fast-paced and tubing waves (Bingin is no accident called Barrel Factory or Green Room). They work well in medium and low Mere, so they are recommended only to experienced surfers as the waves break off the reef and are almost always tubing, especially in Bingin. Impossibles with the right conditions offers the possibility of nearly one kilometer ride that can also reach the beach of Bingin.
Uluwatu is Bali’s most famous spot. It is located in the southern tip of Bukit, and access is via a steep stairway leading to a beautiful cave through which you can access a real waves car. The great reef that forms the backdrop offers continuous waves and different peaks. The waves are all bad except Temple, which is the farthest from the entrance, which also offers a good right. It works with all tidal and swell conditions but offers the best with low tide tide. Even this spot is not suitable for beginners as the waves are fast enough and there is not much water. Uluwatu is a wonderful spot just to be seen from the promontory and offers unforgettable sunsets.
The Queen of the Waves of Bukit. Padang Padang works well just as the bigger swells, The wave is a perfect blue tube, so much so that the August international contest is held on this spot. When there are conditions for working 100%, it is accessible only to the most experienced surfers as the reef is very sharp and often the line up is crowded with high-level surfers. In quieter conditions the peak moves to the center of the bay and becomes a great spot even for beginners at the first lessons.

KUTA REEF / AIRPORT LEFT-RIGHT
Kuta Reef is a spot about 800m off Kuta Beach, reachable by barchino (on average it costs around 4-5 € for 2 hours of session), and is a spot suitable for all levels of surfers. This very great accessibility makes it often and very willingly. The wave is a good left soft enough, but with a somewhat larger swell offering a tubular central section, Airport Left and Right are two spots close to the airport track, they always reach the boat and are about 1km After Kuta Reef. Airport Left is a soft wave, often frequented by longboard riders, works well up to 4-6 feet, beyond the wave turns into a great close-out! Airport Right is on the opposite side of the track and works well with 3-5 feet. It offers a good right and you can also surf for more than 100 meters. The best conditions for Airport, both left and right, are generally in the morning.
Canggu is a large expansive tourist area that is about ten kilometers north of Kuta. In addition to the great variety of restaurants, wellness centers and nightclubs, it offers 3 different spots, located in several sections of the long beach of Canggu. In Canggu you can find waves for beginners as well as for intermediate and experienced surfers, with backdrops ranging from rocky beach to the most rabid points. It is a very busy area and many people who stay in kuta and Seminyak come to Canggu for surfing. It is highly recommended for the first approaches to surfing disciplines, as they feature some of the most affordable surf spots in Bali.
Things to do in Bali
Bali is an extremely heterogeneous tourist destination as it offers a virtually endless range of options to set your vacation: surfing and sports in general, culture, with its many Hindu temples and its millenary history to discover, Nature, shopping, beach break and a nightlife that has nothing to envy in Ibiza and Mykonos. Below we list only some of the hiking and sights of this Indonesian island Mystic.
Mount Batur is the volcano of Bali, and it rises up to about 1800 meters above sea level. Excursions depart from the village of Batur, located at the foot of the volcano by the lake Batur. Climbing takes about 4 hours in its complete path, around 2 am to reach the summit at dawn, where you will be offered a typical “volcano style” breakfast (hard boiled eggs and bananas inside Holes dug in the volcano-warmed ground, absolutely to be tried!). As soon as the sun illuminates the show, the spectacle that will be presented will be imputable: from the peak of Batur on the clearest days, you have a 360-degree view on the island of Bali and even see the top of Rinjani in Lombok . During the excursion the guides will inform you of the various eruptions of the Batur, which over the centuries radically changed the appearance and size of the mountain itself and the surrounding era, as you will easily notice from the cooled lava casts and different colors Extending north and east of the volcano.
Seminyak is 3 km north of Kuta, and is the main area for worldliness, shopping, the most prestigious restaurants and nightlife in general. In Seminyak it’s impossible not to find a restaurant or restaurant that suits your needs, as it goes from the simplest Warung to the most expensive of the restaurants, crossing any type of world cuisine. Also in Seminyak are also the best nightclubs in Bali and lots of spa and massage centers. The only traffic slip note, which in the areas of Seminyak and Kuta reaches really claustrophobic levels.
Ubud is considered by many as the world capital of Yoga. Immersed in the greenery of the beautiful and beautiful Balinese rice fields, it is about 50 km to Kuta, in the center of the island. In Ubud you can spend days of complete relaxation, savoring the various types of kitchens offered by the great restaurants in the area and letting you carry by the sounds of the surrounding nature. Ubud is also home to the famous monkey forest, where thousands of specimens find their home, but do not give them too much confidence, they seem innocuous but can be very aggressive, especially if in the presence of puppies!
JIMBARAN FISH MARKET
Jimbaran is a fishing village south of the airport and at the doors of Bukit. It has a beautiful and large beach from which you can admire wonderful sunsets, savoring the fresh fish you can choose from the pools that every beach restaurant has on display. Better yet is the fish market, which every day offers the opportunity to buy fresh fish at almost embarrassing prices, and make it cook directly from Warung present outside the market for a price of about 20,000 rupees, equivalent to about 1,50 €
The Uluwatu Temple is located on the south tip of the island, and is built on an overhanging promontory overlooking the sea offering stunning views. The temple is the largest on the island, there are some areas not intercepted by non-hindu, but most of the area is accessible to everyone. Periodical performances are performed with typical costumes that give the opportunity to understand and know the most important facts and characters of the fascinating Hindu culture. The temple is inhabited by many monkeys, so be careful not to leave unattended objects that could become the new toys of their puppies.

Weather in Bali
The dry season, especially from June to October, is undoubtedly the best to visit Bali. The wet season runs from October to early May, and is definitely warmer and humid, and rains are very frequent almost daily. During dry season precipitation is sporadic and of short duration.
Trasports in Bali
Bali has a good road network, and the major cities are connected via multiple-way freeways. The whole island is accessible via asphalt roads, and dirt tracks are only available to reach the more isolated beaches.
Traffic is the salient note of Bali, especially in the most popular tourist areas, such as Kuta, Seminyak and Canggu. Shifts are almost always on a scooter, which is essential to have just arrived (all our packages include scooter rental for the duration of stay) but it is important to conduct a careful and prudent guidance as the Balinese style of riding , Especially taxi and truck drivers, can often be dangerous for two-wheelers. The helmet and the international driving license are compulsory and are always required by the police in case of document control.
Indonesia from the possibility of free entry (Visa Exemption) if the duration of stay does not exceed 30 days. In this case, you will not be able to extend your visa, and in the case of a strike you will have to pay a penalty of about € 25 for each additional day beyond the thirtieth. In case of longer stay, you must apply for Visa on Arrival at the airport, indicating to the customs operator who is expected to stay more than thirty days. In this case, you will be required to pay about € 33, which will allow you to obtain the extensible visa. This visa has an initial duration of thirty days, but it will be possible to extend it, at a further € 33, to the Nusa Dua Immigration Office. There are several agencies offering extension service, which avoids the annoying bureaucracy (it is necessary to go to immigration twice to get the extension), but generally apply a surcharge of around € 20. Given the slowness of Indonesian administrative offices, it is necessary to launch the extension itinerary seen at least ten days before the first month of visa expires.
